we don't have a public facing API yet and we'd ask that anyone making a client hold off until there is one. we're going to allow third party clients, but the public API release will likely have a separate terms of use that we haven't written yet. our main priorities are maintaing site performance/integrity, and maintaining user privacy. any terms would exist to protect those.
also we obviously can't really help you if a fruit company gets mad about porn in the app.
yeah, to be clear, we like all of the parts of open source and interoperability where people do development work for us for free1, but being maintainers also comes with extra work for us and we're already spinning enough plates as it is
