So, on the one hand, I'm the keeper of a mass spectrometer with a gigantic 500 pound transformer with a Big Red Emergency Stop button on it and I understand the urge to push it. (As the Authorized Personnel, I can, of course, when I have the instrument in a safe state to power it down, Authorize Myself to go ahead and press the Big Red Button.)

But also I feel like "blocking yourself" is the most "Cohost Thing" I can imagine....

we had no philosophical qualms with allowing you to block yourself; the only problem is that it made your own posts stop appearing on your feed (along with anything you shared), and you couldn't ever unblock yourself, and it was easier to patch out self-blocks than make them "work" (???) "properly" (?????????)
