np! to be fair, in practice I think they're unlikely to do this for the same reason elon is unlikely to do this (because it would get them banned from cell phone app stores), and bluesky both needs to attract new users and has an external developer community which isn't beholden to bluesky PBLLC itself in a way that twitter does not
however the fact that jack sees eye to eye with elon on this (and many other things) is part of why I will never trust bsky as a product.

I remember when Jack tried to do this on Twitter like a decade ago and everyone got so mad they rolled it back in about a day.
I try not to judge but I cannot for the life of me understand the appeal of that platform.
People liked the Twitter format, people didn’t like Twitter management, so they fled to a place that had the twitter format without the twitter management. It’s really not much more complicated than that!
Oh, I see. I guess in my mind I always saw an unbroken link between Dorsey and Musk in terms of being bad management, so I assumed everyone would go to a place like Mastodon or something. Thanks for clarifying!
He’s a free speech absolutist, he absolutely thinks blocking people on a website is some form of actual evil. Like Bluesky didn’t even have blocking until users demanded it, and he has publicly supported un-banning Donald Trump from Twitter. On the other hand he’s not a complete idiot, so when everyone else under him who makes the website work says “actually, this is necessary to make the website work” he just goes with that because he sees banning a couple of fascists to maintain his business as a sort of lesser evil.
Too bad Muskrat can't actually remove blocking. If he wants to stay on the App Store and Play Store that is~

good news is that Elon is once again talking out his ass. Both the app store and the Google play store have terms that state any social media apps REQUIRE a block feature
Unfortunately that 'block feature' the terms require is the ability for admins to ban people from their website, not for users to block people.
