I just learned that there's a company that makes a virtual reality spray painting simulator for training people how to paint cars and houses and shit. It comes complete with an HTC vive, a little console and a paint gun. I have no idea how much they are new, but I found a used one on eBay for a whopping $14,000 It's like someone took one of those goofy Steam Greenlight random-day-job-simulator games but made it a real fucking industrial product

lol, I saw one of these but for welding. Same principle, big console box and a VR spatial controller in the shape of a welding apparatus and helmet.
H... how is this supposed to be less expensive or more effective as a training method than giving a high schooler a paint gun and telling them to go nuts on some scrap metal?
I know the mask is because the product photos were probably shot over the pandemic, but I like to think its for VR paint fumes.
i love also that that isn't just a vive, but the much more expensive vive pro eye, so this sim is probably also watching where you look as part of its training regimen
