the only part in marc andreessen's new post that is not the dumbest shit in the world is the part about nuclear energy development

and even so

a) no bright future of nuclear energy is possible without the collapse of capitalism and imperialism, the forces that wanted to use "the splitting atom [...] as [its] main shield against the barbarians", to quote his quote of thomas murray
b) the death of capitalism also makes other futures brighter as well, ones that have a 0% chance of exploding and poisoning people within ten miles instead of a 0.05% chance

it doesn't really have a coherent point, it's basically 30 variations on the theme of "things are better than they used to be, and that's all thanks to technology and capitalism, and that's why we need to keep doing those things"
