gotta say one of my absolute least favorite things about 3d printing is the thing where you have to step the print head up and down by 10 microns at a time to make sure it's in the ideal Zone where the melted plastic sticks to the print surface but isn't squished into the print surface in an inaccurate way that is bad
the one saving grace of this hobby is that I only print PLA on moral grounds, so I can throw any poorly manufactured plastic goods into the city compost bin and count on decomposers to turn them back into dirt so they serve a useful purpose
whoops! turns out HT-PLA isn't a good polymer for things with living joints! that's another snack for the worms
