this time it's all about analogue video; this device contains a MAX7456 PAL/NTSC on-screen display chip and a Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller board, the aim is to (eventually) draw subtitles on top of analogue video - the hardware is finally ready to start trying out

it'll never feel "presentable" if it's on a breadboard, breadboards are where my electronics projects go to collect dust forever, recycling a cardboard box with a scalpel gets me something usable without having to learn how to 3D print it
ooooooh we used to have something like this at work that would sync to a GPS time signal and print precise timestamps on NTSC video signals
