the most frightening experience I've ever had was watching Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet and realizing that Daddy Capulet is played by the same actor as Rotti Largo
when i was younger i would go with a bunch of theater buddies who did repo showings like you would with rocky horror, live actors props that kinda thing which made that movie a huge seesawing experience of very very fun and rottenly unbearable. also i did stage monkey shit and yelled jokes and callbacks at the screen a lot.
The Devil's Carnival was better imo. Zdunich's writing did better with the series-of-vignettes format, and the music is consistently solid throughout.
The main impression I get is that Repo is Phantom of the Paradise for Americans
