i finally sorted out all my python versioning and package issues, uninstalled Anaconda entirely, and switched LSP backends and it was all a huge pain in the ass but the bright side is my emacs Python IDE setup is now both more consistent/stable and way faster and feature-rich (Pyright is a substantially better backend than Anaconda it turns out)

Yeah same. I can understand the utility in like a work context where you do specifically and only data science, but as soon as you're doing any generalist programming it becomes a whole mess of some things installed with Conda and some things with Pip and things not making it into the Conda env and agh
