gonna take a peak at Doom Emacs for fun and also because i feel like i use emacs enough at this point that i sometimes but up against the quirks of spacemacs' configuration and there's appeal to a more minimal setup
I did this when I was cycling through editors; Doom is much faster and I like the dependency management system better. Things are just cleaner in general, and it gives a good scaffold to hang your own customizations.
Yeah I really like it. Spacemacs was a nice way of getting into Emacs because it's so out of the box ready to go but Doom feels so much cleaner and faster and the configuration is way easier to manage even if it requires some more initial tooling around.
