Got these 1964 Cuban space stamps in a random stamp grab-bag today. I am very into space stamps, especially ones that have this 50s/60 retrofuture vibe to them, so this is just catnip to me.

The scan doesn't really show it, but the spaceships are printed in a metallic ink that kinda shimmers when the light hits them.

I have a very very small collection of space stamps and I'd like to get more, but based on what I've seen there are roughly eleven million billion frillion space stamps. I'm not the type who has to have a complete collection of anything (just ask my 20 years of incomplete Pokédexes) but since there are SO MANY it's more of an issue of being intimidated on where to start.

I guess the right place to start would be to complete these sets. Joke's on me, when I pulled these bad boys outta the envelope I thought they all belonged to the same set. Nope! Each color is its own set.
One of the aforementioned sets of stamps, as part of the The 25th Anniversary of Various Rockets and Satellites set from Cuba. Four satellites hover on a red background. In the corner of each is a different quadrant of the Earth.
