Gosh I remember messing with images as audio in audacity and mostly fucking up haha. This is so cool.
now time for you to fall down the ntsc/hdmi/eurorack/lzx/rezaloom/obs feedback loop rabbit hole like @glitchwolfe did
Oh heck yes! Thank you for bringing their work to my attention! Absolutely amazing stuff from her I am seeing already!
still trying to drag her back to cohost she’s mostly on twitter and instagram lol
I need cool digital artist over here so I can see the amazing work that they do and be inspired more
hehe I sort of got her to wake up from her slumber and at least follow you. she'd make a great following on this site if she opened up her asks
Ahh!! I miss databending like this! Never thought to try it with video though.
Yeah! It is simple enough too. If you're using Audacity you can convert your video to a .yuv file and then import that as raw data.
.bmp for images. You need to make sure to not edit the very first but of the audio track too (this goes for both image and audio) as the header information is stored there.
robin your stuff rips, hope you keep doing cool stuff
also good cat.
reminds me that i don't have my .bat databending setup online anywhere. it requires a bit of setup and some manual scripting and i haven't implemented an ffmpeg command to automate the video→image sequence→video conversion which would take a little annoyance out of the process, but it gets good results if you can put up with it.
for example, this is a video + per-frame parameter automation (which requires a manual edit). if i remember right, it's got a constant decreasing value at the same time as a randomized one, which is cool but also a pain in the ass to write because batch script is the worst.
anyway i think i have the .bat's sitting in google drive or something, i should post them when i get home. i've just put it off because i think a good tutorial is important since there's nothing in terms of ui, and to do anything complex (or even anything simple, like switch between operating on each frame in a video vs animating parameters over a single input frame) you have to learn the deranged syntax batches are written in.
