Anthro New England

  • Transit access: half-decent. It's not particularly far from the Silver or Red Lines, but both of those have mediocre service levels, and they aren't particularly close, either.
  • Walkability: sure, technically, the Seaport area has a bunch of shops that aren't too far from the hotel, but it's just dismal to walk there. The absolute opposite of human-scale, but not even in a cool way.
  • Direct access to the airport: actually pretty good. The Silver Line can fairly quickly get you right to the airport.
  • Weather: it's sure as hell not too warm for fursuiting, that's for certain.
  • Likely GHG emissions involved in getting there as a non-local: if you're coming from within the Northeast, potentially zero. If you're coming from further afield, it's probably not bad; there are a fair number of direct flights to Boston.

VancouFur

  • Transit access: decent! There's quite the selection of buses you can take to get to Surrey Central from a bus exchange just three minutes of walking away, and once you're there, you can get to a huge portion of the city quickly via the SkyTrain.
  • Walkability: ehhhhhh. It's stroad hell in that part of town. Even just walking to the adjacent mall isn't that fun of an experience, given the literal hectares of parking lots.
  • Direct access to the airport: lol, lmao. You're looking at two trains and a bus to go to/from the airport.
  • Weather: actually pretty moderate and reasonable most years. It's definitely cold by "the rest of the world" standards, but some of the mildest late-winter weather in the whole of Canada.
  • Likely GHG emissions involved in getting there as a non-local: a decent bit, unless you're flying on a longer nonstop or carpooling in. It's not ridiculous, but we don't exactly have electric long-distance trains like they do in the Northeastern US!

Furry Weekend Atlanta

  • Transit access: great. There are two MARTA lines basically underneath the hotel.
  • Walkability: good! It's a downtown con, so it's about as walkable as you can really find in a major US city.
  • Direct access to the airport: I'm pretty sure you don't even need to go outside outside to get to/from the airport.
  • Weather: warm! Quite warm. Not necessarily the best for fursuiting.
  • Likely GHG emissions involved in getting there as a non-local: not a ton, given that Atlanta is a massive hub for Delta.

Midwest Furfest

  • Transit access: solidly decent. The main hotel is fairly close to a CTA station, though the (numerous) overflow hotels are further away.
  • Walkability: lmfaooooooooooo. If you like walking multiple kilometres on icy sidewalks to get from your hotel to the con, this is the con for you!
  • Direct access to the airport: trivially easy. It's one CTA stop, or maybe a short hotel shuttle trip, away from O'Hare.
  • Weather: absolutely cold enough for fursuiting. Unless you're in the Skybridge, which, well, in that case, have fun.
  • Likely GHG emissions involved in getting there as a non-local: probably one of the least worst to fly into, given how big of a hub O'Hare is.

Further Confusion

  • Transit access: decent! The VTA light rail doesn't really run often enough, but it goes right by the hotel!
  • Walkability: good. It's right in the middle of Downtown San Jose, so you can absolutely walk to many places that you might want to go to during a con.
  • Direct access to the airport: sorta decent? It involves the light rail and then a shuttle bus to/from the airport. Could be better, but could also be worse.
  • Weather: pleasant!
  • Likely GHG emissions involved in getting there as a non-local: probably average for a con that's not close to a major hub airport? If nothing else, you can take transit from both SFO and SJC to the hotel.

Biggest Little Fur Con

  • Transit access: fucking lol.
  • Walkability: absolutely lmfao. Even the hotel itself is sufficiently large horizontally that it's pushing the concept of walkability, let alone once you get past the parking lots, which are half the size of a literal country. (Yes, Vatican City, but still.)
  • Direct access to the airport: the airport shuttle is frequent and reliable!
  • Weather: now that it's in October, usually a bit on the chilly side, but also bright and sunny, so probably good for fursuiting!
  • Likely GHG emissions involved in getting there as a non-local: a lot. Every flight in there is on some kind of small plane doing a short hop (so, lots of extra fuel burned), and driving in necessarily involves crossing lots of mountains.

Howloween

  • Transit access: it's a short walk from a SkyTrain line, so pretty good!
  • Walkability: decent! Once again, it's beside a stroad and near a massive mall, but Downtown Richmond is much less pedestrian-hostile than Guildford in Surrey.
  • Direct access to the airport: dead easy. Canada Line to Bridgeport, The Other Canada Line to the airport.
  • Weather: kinda shitty and rainy, but at least it's not too hot?
  • Likely GHG emissions involved in getting there as a non-local: see VF.
