I recently got into isopod breeding (too recently to even have babies yet) and lord they shred plants fast. How is the fern holding up? I have heard some plants they'll leave alone so idk if ferns are one of them. I have some ivy in my terrarium they leave alone but the other plant I had got obliterated at record speed.
not sure! i only introduced them to this terrarium a few days ago, theyre very interested in that fern though.
Im not super worried because I think it can outgrow them, but if it fails it fails! they've been doing well inside of setups that have active rot in the wooded parts, largely ignoring the plants as long as theres soft pulp and fungus to feed on.
excited to post more updates soon, you should show us your bugs too!!
I think I've seen people mention ferns as something that will survive being in a tank with them. I have two species (some fancy morphs I got online and some locally caught guys I'm separating certain colors out to breed), I don't really want to post much to cohost at this point because of [gestures wildly at recent events] but here's a photo I got the other day https://hackers.town/@lori/110510481190358156
I saw them sitting there and was like shit shit I gotta get a photo fast before they move. They aren't the easiest guys to photograph most phone cameras do not like taking photos of very tiny things
