Saw a bunch of art for this years ago and was like really wanted to play it. Then I realized it's so weird to control and I never got the hang of it. This is such a weird experiment and fascinates me.
The weird jank rotation reminds me of the way a Japanese PC game of the era might treat sprites. I'm surprised the MD is fast enough to keep up with everything this game throws at it. Also that it doesn't seem to need the Mega CD's scaling/rotation functions to do what it does. (A similar rotation thing is going on to a much lesser extent in both versions of Sol Feace / Sol Deace.)
The indiana jones knockoff aspect reminds me of the '90s furry anime Montana Jones as well, which i first heard about through a mid-looking 3DO game.
That’s the most 3DO looking game to ever 3DO and it’s so sad the hardware could do so much more 😭😭😭
It's a fact! Earnest Evans is also the birth name of the musician better known as Chubby Checker. Come on baby, let's do the unnatural limb contortions!
