@bruno

also extremely funny from the PS5 event the other day is like... the industry is in a panic, everyone is worried that there's no publisher money for anything anymore and nothing is safe, only the most commercial and broad-appeal ideas seem to get traction...

and then fucking microids, a studio I forgot was even still a thing, is like "we make SimAnt with photorealistic high production value graphics. you want?"

Personally, I love Microids. They have always been this level of weird. I can never figure them out. Is this game going to be a sleeper classic, like Shogo or Syberia? Or is it going to join the licensed hellscape?

Either way, they're going to make it for a budget of a stick of gum and a handshake. Hey, kept them in business so far.

their longevity is certainly impressive.

i checked out a few of their recent games on Steam. Joe & Mac is mobile-tier trash but Dolphin Spirit: Ocean Mission seems like a passable C-tier Wii experience. this "con" one of its reviewers listed amused me:

The game incorporates real world conspiracy theories and contentious issues as "facts". It shouldn't be played by children for educational purposes.
