i have learned that when windows 10 runs out of space to place new icons it just starts piling them in the upper-left corner, lol
windows reports i have 22 folders / 4,060 files stacked in that one spot right now. i suspect the icon overage is why my desktop been freezing for longer and longer intervals during various gui and file operations despite the modern 24-thread CPU
but fixing it hasn't felt in the cards yet
I have a folder called “desktop stuff” that I periodically drag everything int, which I periodically go through and cull and turns out I don’t need 99% of it
