got bored of Cyberpunk 2077 so i'm going to share more traditional photos for a while.
in 2004 i bought my first bespoke camera, a 7.1MP point-and-shoot Canon PowerShot G6, because i'd learned about RAW files and wanted to walk around the Bay Area shooting stuff at a half-decent quality. i have never been very serious about the craft of it, and know very little theory. but i like to see if i can please myself.
this shot from March 5, 2005 was illuminating--i pointed my lens upward and began to realize how much i liked to capture silhouettes and the interplay of shapes across the frame. big, bold geometries contrasted against a backdrop, sometimes to a point of abstraction. i've been "chasing shapes" ever since. it's easy to spot in my Cyberpunk stuff.
i always reflexively feel like i must apologize for being untrained / not learning more. but i enjoy what i create, even if it's humble, and am happy if others can take something from it too.
