litter found on Oahu's north shoreline the day David Bowie died

i wanted a waterproof camera for my trip to Oahu, Hawaii (absolutely amazing place) so got an Olympus TG-4, a 16MP point-and-shoot (swim-and-shoot?). it had pretty mediocre overall performance but on the bright side i have lots of photos of this great trip. this was one of the only times i've traveled purely for pleasure in my adult life and i can't recommend it enough, if you're able. (it was a solo trip too--also recommended.)

with this pen i kept trying to get a combination of better framing (more ocean) + better focus on the pen but didn't quite manage to get the desired framing.

news of Bowie's death came out the next day (no pun intended). i found out a bit late, during lunch with the chill, van-living boat captain / scuba instructor who'd just taken me out on my first (and so far only) such dive. i was like, "wait, what did you just say??" will never forget that lunch.
