hair
having a fantasy hair color helps. i pay a stylist good money to take care of this. bleaching and dying your hair well is a lot of work and i can afford to let a pro handle it. btw i really like pulp riot colors. especially "absinthe" and "area 51"
i've been using K18 hair repair mask along with some tresemme conditioner. when i remember, i like to use miss jessie's curl cream to keep my curls shiny and well shaped thru the day
nails
2 coats of Atomic Nail Polish followed by 1 coat of Sally Hansen clear coat... this has been my most durable and popular nail look so far
makeup
i use a lightening sunscreen which basically just gives me a slightly smoother and less red skin tone. plus, sun screen is nice for your face!
menagerie cosmetics has god tier color selection for their liquid lipsticks. these can last all day if you avoid oily foods. great color payoff and the formula feels like it lasts pretty well. btw menageri cosmetics has some really nice looking eyeshadows too, but i haven't tried them yet.
i use sephora mascara. originally i didn't think mascara was worth it, but honestly it's one of my favorite things now? it's subtle, but i really love emphasizing my eyelashes :3
sugarpill has some fantastic eyeshadows! i also have a hand-me-down neons palette from @hauntedlatte. i need to check which brand that is because i really like it.
i also just like a basic black eyeshadow from nyx. i take a bit of that and put it under my eyes and blend it out. i love emphasizing the sunken eye look, and it's busy or complicated so it can still work well along with glasses.
i've recently really grown attached to using this purple sparkle highlighting blush from black moon cosmetics. i'm usinng this instead of eyeshadow right now to give a more casual look. i really like caking this on in some big clown circles, then massaging it into my face with my hands.
i don't use eyeliner as much any more but nyx epic wear eyeliner is my favorite. it lasts forever and has a good color selection, plus it's pretty cheap. i have a big collection of these. NOTE: you have to use a sharpener. these are not twist up. i prefer this, as i find twist up to be more likely to break, and harder to apply because the tip is usually flat instead of pointed.
eye makeup is extra hard if you have glasses btw, because you end up covering up a lot of your work. so i'm de-emphasizing it a bit lately and working on beefing up my glasses collection.
btw my eyebrows just naturally look like this. i've never done anything with them. maybe one day i'll try out some kind of eyebrow product, idk.
glasses
go to a fancy little optometrist or glasses store. find the small chicest local one that carries cool brands. designer glasses are expensive, yes, but they're essentially semi-permanent clothing/makeup items that are literally attached to the most prominent part of your face: your eyes. for me, this is absolutely worth the investment.
catch london and l.a. eyeworks are personal favorite brands
jewelry
i fucking love having my septum pierced. i did ear lobes first tho. both are great. i don't have great suggestions on where to get jewelry, but these help the look for sure :)
i also have a couple necklaces but don't really have many thoughts about those.
fashion
i'm practically a brand rep for FOXBLOOD lol. i love their goth shit.
for base items, i like uniqlo's "men's" heattech long johns as tights, and airism v neck shirts. im also trying out their boxer briefs right now. i went thru a couple different brands on an underwear journey, but it's just hard to beat the comfort of mens boxer briefs for my body shape.
i also own clothes from torrid. overall the look is a bit too "business casual" or "mom" for me, but they have occasional items that excite me, and good sizing.
i love fun skirts from witch vamp and vetiverfox. my preference is midi length.
tank tops and crop top sweater from aurahack's shop (@aurahack)
it took me a while to realize that i actually want tighter clothes than i used to, now that im not so afraid of my own body. also, women's clothes tends to assume a much higher "waist" location, and in particular skirts sit best super high up on me due to my tummy. women's clothes seem to assume an hourglass shape, but for me my tummy is my widest measure, so stuff will just fall off. end result here is more flattering for my figure anyway, and helps elongate my legs visually by covering more of my very long torso. which is great, because seriously i carry much of my height in my waist not my legs, and it's not a fashionable ratio lmao.
