In my IMO, by the way, a large part of why people are having such a good time on cohost is that they're not all following 500 accounts that are constantly showing them the worst news they can do nothing about and Reddit posts they wouldn't otherwise have seen. I think that's good, and it's OK to have one website not set up to make you bitter and miserable. Any fight can be lost with low enough morale.

I feel like that's partly because so far it's in a weird place where it's very disproportionately queer and leftist, which makes sense given ASSC's principles and composition. there's no reason to make political posts, really; we all already get it.

news posts could be valuable, though. it would be interesting to have pages for those; idk if I want them mixed in with my memes and css crimes and esoteric blogs though x)

in the general case I'm nervous about spaces that are like "no politics!", because they tend to support the status quo by default. but that's not the vibe here, currently
