I don't actually believe my local sports teams are the best and coolest, but I act like they are, as a fun hobby. Whenever people say "men are like X" I assume they're taking that same kind of position - pretending this interest has deeper meaning, but just for jokes. And like sports teams there are people who actually believe all that shit, and they're crazy and maybe keep your distance. But don't sweat it too much casually imo.

This is something I've been trying to help people understand for a long time, and I think this is the most concise way I've ever seen this expressed.

There is no universal queer/ trans/ gay/ etc. experience, anyone who says otherwise is either in denial or else trying to police other people's queerness.
