While visiting my mom, we ended up watching The People's Joker together. She'd said she was interested when I talked about seeing it the first time, but, like... I really didn't expect it to be her thing. But she loved it? She laughed at more of the jokes than I expected and she really really liked the emotional core of the story, and was moved by the rough mother-daughter relationship at the core of the plot. At the end of the movie I was about to thank her for watching what I didn't expect to be her thing when she thanked me for trusting her to watch that with her. It was really nice.

So yeah, The People's Joker: it's mom-approved.
