iirc one time he cries and it's just like, a giant beam as usual (but maybe More Potent?)
it has been close to two decades since I read xmen tho, so,,, grain of memory salt
I vaguely remember he can cry and tears can form, but lasers still shoot out (I couldn't direct you to a specific comic though). IIRC he's constantly shooting lasers because of an injury that prevents him from being able to control it, so they just shoot whenever his eyes are open if he doesn't have his special glasses. But with the whole mutant resurrection and immortality thing now, who knows if they constant laser is still a thing.
so the eyes are a portal to the punch dimension but his tear ducts work as normal. portal never closes except when he shuts his eyes (various explanations) but his visor takes care of that
would the tears run down his cheeks or would the punch beams kinda splatter them all over his visor interior. or maybe would they like get heated into steam & so like if you saw Cyclops with a little cloud up over his head you'd be like oh damn he's sad
uh, depends whose writing him! writers switch between the actual factual power set (kinetic beams, like an unending wave of force) and their own interpretation (standard laser beams, magic beams, etcetera). they usually show the tears rolling down his cheek
