A bit of double feature tonight! But not exactly because while it does feature some stop motion animation, Knock down is more life action than anything else. I did debate with myself whatever I wanted to include it in my animations recommendations but ultimately decided against it.

But this decision works out in my favour, I think, because this short film makes an excellent foil to Szansa.

Both works center around unsatisfaction with life and escapism, but Knock down is longer and a bit more surreal. Not full blown surrealism mind you, but it's def more out there than Szansa.

Part of what makes this short is the absolutely amazing lighting- every frame a painting indeed! Another real important aspect of the work is the music courtesy of Zenon Kowalowski.

It's over 15 minutes long, so a bit longer than what I usual show off but still very short. It uses it's time well, to get across the maddening monotony of daily life.

Warnings for it included nudity and some flashing, especially towards the end of the short.
