My mom reminded me that I used to draw the same picture over and over again. There’s probably more but this was all I found. And I’m not sure how old I was exactly, but by the looks of it pretty young.

Anyway I’m gonna try redrawing this! Clearly child-me wanted this. I’m thinking of maybe painting it on canvas haha. stay tuned?

It’s done!! But was hard to get a good picture of for some reason.
Painting this was such a happy experience, I feel like this is how child me wanted this to look.
And also doing this was making me remember other childhood memories, mostly surrounding art, remembering various artworks that I loved to look at all the time, and how they made me feel. I dunno how to explain it, it’s no secret that I love art, and that I love drawing, but something about making this and experiencing past feelings I remembered just how deeply I love art and how important it is. Art makes me feel safe and happy, and I want other people to feel that way too. And I want to paint more things like this!

Oh wow this is so cute!! And definitely agree with your sentiment. Re-drawing older artworks feels so re-affirming in a way, that makes your love for art "valid". You remember about how it made you feel without the worries of adulthood and that's so refreshing. Nice work!! 😁

This is so sweet... ;_; I often find myself thinking "make something Younger Me would love" when I draw, but this is such a direct and heartfelt way of doing it...glad you had fun

Same! I often think of younger me, and also I like to think of Future Me, because however “good” or “bad” it may be I tend to like looking back on my art, so it’s like a nice gift for later (especially if I write something funny on the back)

Anyway, thank you <3
