I like thin and soft papers so I don't need to use like CRUSHING pressure to get a good impression, because I don't have a press of my own and I do it all with a brayer or a spoon. Washi, similar stuff, nice fine but long and strong filament paper.

...it just occurred to me that you probably mean like, printing with a printer. In that case I like crisp hard paper meant for laser printing, very bright white for maximum contrast

I mean I do both so! haha. Yeah I made the mistake of when I first started doing linocuts trying to use a bristol type paper. I ended up using my car as a press to get enough weight to get a decent transfer x_x So a softer paper for SURE next time. Heck, the next lino I'll do will be to print on fabric so that'll be a whole new puzzle!

For printer printing I've been using this epson stock but it's like, a little over a dollar a sheet so it's not super cost effective. I was staring hard at some 80lb card stock from Hammermill but I have no idea if it'll work out, and there's no stores near me where I can see the stuff in person. x_x I'd hate to order it just to find out it's not what I need.

I FEEL YOU on that last point, that's the Bookbinder's Lament right there. I always hear professional binders talking about paper x or paper y and I'd love to see them in person but they all have to be imported from Germany at great expense and I'm like forrrr gettttt itttt, I'll just use Canson or something.
