(EDIT: someone is working on this now, thank you everyone!)

So I'm looking to hire an artist to make a whopping five icons for me. This screenshot is just placeholder art from some place that charges 2 bucks an icon for commercial use, but I always wonder if these places are just stealing art from the internet, and the final art will be going into an open source software project, as public domain .bmp files, so I want to pay a real person directly to be sure there are no problems with redistribution.

Basically I need icons that suggest:

  • Physical sound hardware, connected to a computer (the icons at the top)
  • Virtual sound hardware, which is a make-believe layer on top of the physical stuff (the blue icons).
  • A sound file (that screenshot says "MP3" but I'd rather it not be specific)
  • Something that implies a playing sound (there's a speaker there with a cruddy progress bar beneath it, but I'm down for better ideas)
  • A trash can or whatever, where we drag the other icons to remove them.

The actual app that uses these isn't going to look much better than that screenshot, fwiw. It's an intentionally sparse test app. These are all 128x128 RGBA icons in this shot, but that's not a hard requirement. I'm not looking to duplicate these specific icons, so any interesting and different takes are welcome.

Mostly I'm looking for the art style to be consistent between the icons and a willingness to put the final files in the public domain. Credit and a link to your work will be included with the art, in addition to payment.

Hit me up, name your price.

Thanks!
