the more i see people offhandedly say something is "inspired by agatha christie" or "like agatha christie" the more i wonder if said people have read agatha christie. (especially her books other than the Big Famous Ones.) she's got a p specific style and just bc it's a murder mystery with a big cast doesn't make it "like agatha christie". there's a particular pace and cadence to it. and a particular way of delineating and distributing information and character relationships. i'm no expert on christie but she's quite specific in the books of hers that i have read!
