and it's another to realize there are still ~2m people in the US watching new episodes of the simpsons. the show has continued on and has run for more time since I last saw an episode as it had run when I stopped. It is the weirdest way of remembering that I am small and the world is big and even after I'm gone it will be, to almost everyone, the same as it was the day before

"It's good again!" they will say. That may be true, but I can never know, as I was made in a world that doesn't exist anymore and can't comprehend things made in the new. Also because seeing the new HD backgrounds make me want to throw up

what stories could still exist for those characters that haven't been told? what untold stories could still be meaningful to tell with the simpsons having gained and lost it's position as a cultural juggernaut? and of those stories that are somehow still meaningful, how could they possibly be told by the people that drove the series to this point. Perhaps Branson Reese's "one fear" best reflects how the simpsons like mickey mouse have hit a point where the only meaningful work could be a tijuana bible.

Anyway, remember when they made a movie?
