some years ago, for reasons I no longer remember, I started frequently sleeping with my head at the foot of the bed. As a goof I started referring to sleeping this way as "sleeping Belgian style" -- again, for no particular reason. Once on Twitter I mentioned sleeping Belgian style and someone was like "oh I grew up in Belgium and I never heard about this" and I just went full smooth sharks and said "oh that's so weird! I've always heard it called that!" Anyway you ever tried sleeping Belgian style? try it sometime!

Ah yes, I used to sleep Belgian-style as a kid, so the open window would be next to my head rather than my feet.
I sleep Belgian style during the summer because then the window A/C unit isn't randomly blasting my face through the night, and instead my constant fan is gently circulating air (while the A/C can choose to blast through the night)
Sleeping Belgian style for me also puts my head directly like two feet from the fan, and ahhhh.... the importance of Cold Head
