Their early toothbrushes were a little too noisy for my tastes, but when the DiamondClean came out in 2003, I think they really came into their own, commercially and dentally. The whole brush has a crisp sound, and the QA that went into the product really shines through. They've been compared to Oral-B, but I think Sonicare has a far more worldly sense of oral care.
