unlimited pto is good actually
I miss having it, especially when my current employer only has one PTO pool for vacation and sick time, and I burned almost two weeks of it with covid earlier in the year, and another week moving. sucks
i'd like to have unlimited with a minimum because i have been lightly scolded this morning for barely having used any PTO this year (correctly so, i am very bad at taking it for myself)
yeah a minimum is necessary (as is making sure everyone actually takes vacation + setting the expectation that everyone takes 20-40 days a year)
Does having a minimum also fix the thing where they don’t have to pay it out when you leave because it isn’t a specific amount?
not really, but if your job pays a living wage the time and flexibility afforded by unlimited pto is far more valuable than accrued pto payouts will ever be (in my opinion)
i'm jealous of everyone who has it
