that argument is traditionally some secure HMAC function, like hmac-sha256 or hmac-sha512.
though i think these days argon2 is generally considered superior to pbkdf2 if you have it or can use it
sorry if you knew this, if there's a specific algo expected here then i have no idea what exactly is goin on
from memory: 200000 rounds, output len 128, HMAC-SHA384. which of course the pbkdf2 crate doesn’t support, but ring does
but ring is like unmaintained and shitty
maybe i should just write javascript

anyway i was gonna send RustCrypto a PR tonight
wait i figured out how to do it with RustCrypto. i'll share once i have it written out
