it's a framework!!! im very excited - and already enjoying using it - which made me want to make a little (ha!) post about the laptop it replaced, and the laptop that laptop replaced. (and i'll probably do a write up later on the (spoiler!) macbook and the tribulations i went through to make that thing work) (fyi this is a Long Post(it got out of hand im sorry))

My first "real" computer was a 2009 Mac Pro. It died of a ram failure. Then my brother's 2011 MacBook Air, it got tossed down a flight of stairs, multiple times. The frame got so busted the I couldn't get the charger to fit anymore.

Then he gave me his 2015 MacBook Pro. He ripped the screen straight off in a seizure. After I out grew the hardware I had, I keep this thing on life support and my daily driver for 5 years(!). The batteries bulged so much I had to rip the bottom cover off. YET, I did not upgrade until AUGUST OF LAST YEAR. I seriously don't know how I dealt with it. On two occasions, the MacBook got so hot I had to stuff it in a mini fridge to finish an export. The monitor? A busted Viso 720p television a friend gave us 7 years ago. I used that as my monitor up until 2 months ago.

I now use a 2020 Mac Mini with as much jank as my last computer. Moral of the story? Uh... tolerance I guess. do the best with what you got
