I recently learned about Shiro to Kuro no Densetsu, a 1985 MSX horror adventure game that used an audio cassette for its soundtrack, which is an absolute dead ringer for 2014-era Dream Catalogue. Sounds like a lost t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者 release. Real OOPart shit.
A key part of my aesthetic is long-form playalong soundtracks that accompany low-tech games. This game's term for it, "Siphonic Sound", is the best term and I'm commandeering it forever.
