My HTC Vive Focus Plus came in today. It was on sale for like 60% off so I picked it up as a birthday present to myself.
After a LOT of searching and googling, however, I think I realize I've fucked myself, in a way. I already paid money for this product, and it also has a fucking subscription model. In order to connect it to steam I apparently need to subscribe to something for six bucks a month. What the fuck is this bullshit???
Everything online says I can use cables instead of having it be wireless, which is what the subscription claims it does. However, all those say things like the Focus 3, or other models. I see nothing about the Focus Plus. So I can only believe that this model, and this model alone, REQUIRES me to spend extra money every month to actually use it.
I am genuinely offended.
If anyone has any actual knowledge about this thing, or has one, let me know what the hell I'm doing wrong so I don't spend money I don't need to.
