Unemployed 30-something slinger of too many words. Would happily invite people into my own little worlds if only anybody asked. I own an unwise amount of golf simulators (approaching four shelves now!) and otherwise tinker with retro computers and assorted video game nonsense.

I just finished playing Psycutlery by my friend Luke Tarlowe, and if you like platformers, you should play it! It's a tough game to describe, but it's somewhere between Kirby and Yoshi's Island.

The real draw of the game, I think, is the level design: there's 50 levels (with 50 b-sides for a total of 100 levels), and every single one has a unique, unusual gimmick to it. There's a lot of game here (it took me about 14 hours to 100% the story mode), and it never repeated itself. I was never bored. Also your main interaction with the game world is eating things using a psychic spork.

And it's free! Luke has been working on this on-and-off for a decade as a hobby, and they decided they just wanted to put it out in the world.

Yes that too! I know Luke because in a former life, we were admins on the biggest Mario fangame website of the 2000s. They've come a long way!

i heard about this ages ago and thought it didn't make it, it's great to see it finished! I absolutely love to see "fangame turned into original characters" stories like this one, it's where i got my start too ๐Ÿ˜„
