Here is a game I played a LOT has a kid. This is the (unfortunately named) Genocide by Pyrosoft. It's an artillery game (a.k.a. Sorched Earth clone) in 3D! The graphics were pretty amazing at the time (and still look cool). There are dozens of maps that deform in 3D. The enormous weapons effects were totally mind-blowing to a young me.
