Cohost has better pictures to look at but, right now, the average long- to mid-form writing skill level is still kind of low compared to the average short-form writing elsewhere. Can't wait for the microcosm of software engineers, UX developers, and games workers that actually post on here to get back to a pre-Twitter comfort level for writing more than 200 words at once.

in reply to @wingblade's post:

I do too mostly because of time and subject. The longest I want to spend writing about most things without an editor is the length of a backloggd or letterboxd writeup, but both of those contain direct audience about what I want to write vs being responsible for having subject and audience here.

There is some good posting, but a lot of the long form stuff has so much runway before anything gets said. If I have to follow the jump just to understand what the angle of your writing is because you spent two paragraphs being an emphatic big personality, personally, I'm not gonna expect anyone to do that.

Yeah I've enjoyed a lot of writing that's hosted on co-host since it opened up, but I find that it's either the case you gave or it's by someone who either has a writing practice elsewhere or has maintained a proper blog on the side.
