that's a great question! and please note that "old internet" is going to be very relative to the individual depending on age, so i'm revealing my age a bit by answering
when i think of "old internet", i'm thinking of forum-style roleplaying sites like Quotev and 2010's tumblr. basically, the internet as it was when i was first becoming conscious of it
i am also referring to older, early 2000's type flash games and websites, and pre-algorithmic versions of popular websites (remember how YouTube used to be in like,,, 2008? what a time)

ehehe we must be around the same age then because i think of very similar things. independent RP forums, some of the old chans, gaia online, 2008-2010 youtube with custom channels, comments, and polls!! what a time... 😭

makes total sense! and yeah my family didn't get non dial-up internet til 2007 and it took me a while to warm up to it. shame, cause i missed out on some fun early-mid 00s stuff 😔

oh yeah for sure!! my family struggled to afford internet consistently, so i missed out on some very specific niche stuff from time to time, so i can relate to the FOMO-type stuff
