Their car got repossessed on September 9th. Despite having made all their payments, their loan holder claims they didn't receive two months worth. For my friend, this means about $600 has vanished, their car is gone, and neither their loan holder nor the bank is doing anything to help. The loan holder has stated they have until September 20th (11 days from the day the car was impounded) to come up with $8,000 to get their car back.
My friend cannot afford this. They moved across the country earlier this year, and the move decimated their savings. They simply cannot come up with the funds in time.
Therefore, we're trying to raise money for them to acquire a used vehicle so they can keep getting to/from work. At the very least, the funds raised will be used to help them make up for what they lost in income during the days they've had to miss work so far.
Anything helps, and I'd be very grateful if you could lend a hand.
