- Umami Ruins is kind of fun. Can you really just run right up to the other players' spawn on Turf War? That's going to get messy.
- Manta Maria was my favourite Splatoon 2 map, and I'm glad it's back. Would love to play it one of these days.
- Relatedly, I would like it if whenever they released two new maps, the map rotation for Turf War just stayed on both new maps at the same time for a while, because I don't like being told "no, no, you want MakoMart again" five times in a row.
- Super Chumps are fun - like a spiritual successor to that exploding bubble special from Splatoon 2.
- Reserving judgment on the Kraken - it seems like it could definitely be overpowered in the right hands, but I haven't met the right hands yet. I've just kinda been walking around the Kraken.
- Inkopolis Plaza is nice to have back, but it feels so tiny now. I'm starting to appreciate how much the alleys and cubbyholes of Splatsville do for Splatoon 3's sense of place.

I lost a round of tower control last night because someone on the other team krakened out and hopped on the tower and kept dashing, and it was both fucking hilarious and hard to deal with. Otherwise I almost felt like I could just work AROUND it when people used that super - just get past em and go on my merry way.
oh man! I don't play much ranked so I didn't think of Tower Control, but I can definitely see how the Kraken is going to be A Problem now
Four kraken users popping them in succession is what I picture. About 32-36 seconds of invincibility between the four users? That's a LOT. Don't know how viable it would be but I really hope I see it?? I'd die, it would be so great.
yeah that would rule. I hope the first kraken user can refill their special and rejoin the tower before the fourth one runs out
