Splatoon 3 is doing a Dynamic Duo challenge today, where you play Tower Control in teams of two instead of four. I had quite a rough time getting the five wins you need for a little treat from the shell-out machine, because I'm not good at Splatoon 3, but I got there in the end.
The players I won with were Ana, Composty, Oleksii777 (with whom I won twice!), and アードル. Thanks to the four of you! I got a little worried about that last name while doing this post - I can't read a lick of Japanese so I spent some time hunting and pecking at an online katakana keyboard, only for an online dictionary to tell me it translates to "Adolf". Looking closer, it's missing the last character so I think it's more like Adol, which is good, because I wasn't feeling very happy about potentially congratulating the Japanese Nazi community.
By the way, sorry to the guys I lost with: Splagebbi, eclipse, RML, Quarg, Ana (again - 1 win, 1 loss, all things in balance), ★Salma☆, zi pancake, and Polo. I did the best I could. I don't think it's as bad a best as it looks, at least - only two of those losses were knockouts, and we mostly made the winning teams work for it.
Did the evening challenge slot too, against my better judgment, but had a much better success rate in fewer games. Sorry to Benji and GlitchC, who I booched it with. Thanks to blujay, Imbecile, ミ☆VINT△G≡ (hope I got that right, it's two different characters that look like three lines stacked up), Izu★S and ica_005 for being good enough at Splatoon to carry me. Special thanks to Imbecile and Izu★S, who I lost with, immediately got matched with again, and won with. Extra special thanks to Imbecile for having the name that's the most fun to shout in a Long John Baldry Robotnik voice.
I don't do very well with these challenges. I've got like two silvers, six bronzes and eight did-not-places. But I like the idea of them a lot. I don't play ranked much, but I've learned a lot about Tower Control here. For example, if the other team has a blaster and a good charger, you may as well sack it off and go do a crossword for the next minute.
