It's funny to me watching Internet arguments play out from afar and both sides are like "ha-ha, I have clearly won the day because the other guy is upset" and I think back to a physics class I took that said expending effort to push something that doesn't move means no work was actually performed.
Sometimes people are just lost causes, and the real solution is to take away their power from elsewhere instead of engage
I've had to leave places bc if I corrected every bit of misinfo from right-wing rags and cop-sourced statistics spouted there, I would get nothing done, and even then their unerring conclusion would still be that Blacks shouldn't have access to stores.
It's also very likely that your debate opponent knows this, and wants to keep you locked in a never-ending cycle of arguing over semantics, basic facts, and whatabouts precisely so you don't do something more productive with your time.
