istg sometimes abled and even other disabled people do this really annoying thing I don't know the word for but it's like the reverse of infantilisation.
They'll like... assume that I'm being infantilised when instead I'm being accommodated, and get mad on my behalf because of Course I can do that thing on my own I'm an adult!
...And then I have to tell them that actually I'm getting the help with it because I Can't do it on my own and I actually need someone to walk me through each step and probably come with me too.
Maybe it's just another type of infantilisation? like, assuming that my needs being accommodated is me being treated like a child when instead it's me being given the help that I as an adult have requested
