Today TransActual took the government to court over the temporary "emergency" ban on puberty blockers. Wes Streeting, a Labour MP, directly said that he intends to make it a permanent ban. This is after Labour promised to implement the Cass Review, which notably does NOT actually recommend a ban.
If the government win this case, which we will find out likely next week, trans kids in the UK will not have a legal way to access puberty blockers. Jo Maugham, director of the Good Law Project, is recommending trans people and their families leave the UK if possible.
So for the love of God stop congratulating the UK on our Labour win and getting rid of the right. They're still here. We've been telling you Labour is transphobic and you told us it was a strategy to gain votes. This is what they've done after being elected for only ONE WEEK.
We have 5 more years of this to come. Please fight for trans people in the UK. They've started with puberty blockers, and if this passes then there's nothing stopping them from doing the same to adult HRT.
