When I render, honestly. The sculptural act of chiselling out the finished iteration after construction is done - the simple joy of making marks, the meditative and satisfying emergence of progress. I enjoy construction and sketching more than I used to these days but rendering is my favourite part of the whole painting process.
I do specifically deeply love rendering flesh - creases, wrinkles, veins, folds.
