I tend not to pick absolute favourites in any given field because I feel strongly that different monsters serve different purposes and fill different needs/tastes for me. That said - it'd be remiss not to mention the Xenomorph as like a foundation to so much of how I approach monster design, and as an enormous and deep-reaching influence on me. It feels almost cliche to cite it as a "favourite" but it truly was a sea change for me the first time I saw it.
