Cohost feels like the place for oddities like this - this is a rough for a piece I haven't had the chance to complete but likely will someday, even if that means restarting the work altogether. I wanted to portray St George, the UK's beloved nationalist icon, as a cruel angel (Albeit one without a thesis of any kind) with a sterile, pallid, predatory body, contrasted against the vital, living red of the dragon. It's strange - before the game I never really accumulated longterm WIPs like this - I worked on one piece until it was done, then started a new one. The game's demands on my time and the multiplicity of pieces i've had to do for it behind the scenes has left me with less time to follow thru on whole paintings but more interest in experimenting and rapidly carving out ideas. I'm more iterative and I work faster now (Ironically since I have little to show right now in terms of new work not under NDA) so i'm excited to see what I can do when the game's out the door and I can relax a bit.
